Sound Experience Logo

Sound Experience, a nonprofit organization, sails the historic schooner Adventuress to help people discover Puget Sound and learn from its majesty and vulnerability. As they voyage through the Puget Sound basin, Sound Experience participants are encouraged to realize their interdependence with the ship, the natural environment and each other. They see how their daily behavior makes a difference. And they respond with a growing spirit of cooperation, community, stewardship and responsibility.

What We Do

Hands on a boom

  • Public Day Sails and free Dockside Tours
  • Trips for Teens and Families - Fantastic Voyages for Teens, Elderhostels, Family Sail
  • School and Youth Group Programs - Sound Studies and Sound Explorations
  • Member Transits
  • Corporate Sails
  • Youth-At-Risk and Special Programs - for groups such as the Orion Center, Talisail, and the Ascent Institute.

Get Involved

  • Training for Shipboard Volunteer Crew - We run training cruises for volunteer crew several times a year. Contact us for more information.
  • Work Weekends - Join us and help keep Adventuress in tip-top shape.
  • Volunteer Internships - Join the crew for one month or longer during the sailing season.
